The Primary Treatment mainly separates suspended solids, colloid, floating oil or heavy oil in water. Water quality and quantity regulation, natural sedimentation, floating and oil separation can be adopted.
The Secondary Treatment is mainly to remove the biodegradable organic dissolved substances and some colloidal substances, reduce the biochemical oxygen demand and part of the chemical oxygen demand in the wastewater, and generally adopt the biological method for treatment. In the wastewater after biological treatment, there is still a considerable amount of COD, sometimes with high color, smell and taste, or because of the high requirements of environmental health standards, it needs to be further purified by the three-level treatment method.
The Tertiary Treatment is mainly to remove the organic pollutants and dissolved inorganic pollutants that are difficult to be biodegradable in the wastewater. The commonly used methods include activated carbon adsorption and ozone oxidation, as well as ion exchange and membrane separation technologies. Various chemical industrial wastewater can be treated by different methods according to the requirements of different water quality, water quantity and discharged water quality after treatment.
Biological Treatment
In the early stage of the development of chemical industry, chemical pollutants are mainly inorganic pollutants such as acid and alkali. Generally, simple physical methods and chemical neutralization methods are used for treatment to achieve harmless treatment. The effluent of chemical wastewater after biological treatment still has a considerable amount of COD, sometimes with high color, odor and odor, which can be treated by activated carbon adsorption or ozone oxidation.
