Beer Processing Wastewater
Source of Wastewater
Beer wastewater mainly comes from malt workshop (wheat soaking wastewater), saccharification workshop (saccharification, filtration and washing wastewater), fermentation workshop (fermentation tank washing, filtration and washing wastewater), filling workshop (bottle washing, sterilization wastewater and beer from broken bottles) and production cooling wastewater.
Features of Wastewater
The wastewater from beer industry mainly contains organic substances such as sugars and alcohols. The concentration of organic substances is high, and although non-toxic, it is easy to corrupt. It will consume a large amount of dissolved oxygen when discharged into the water body, causing serious harm to the water environment.
The water quality and quantity vary in different seasons, and the content of organic matter is also at the peak at the peak flow.
In domestic brewery wastewater, the CODcr content is 1000~2500mg/L, and the BOD5 content is 600~1500mg/L. The wastewater has high biodegradability and contains a certain amount of Kjeldahl nitrogen and phosphorus.
Treatment Process Selection of Wastewater
At present, most breweries mainly use the traditional biochemical method to treat wastewater, and many new breweries use the combined process to treat wastewater. The combined process can save costs and reduce energy consumption.
Anaerobic-Oxic Combined Process
Anaerobic-Anoxic-Oxic Combined Process
In addition, the commonly used combined processes also include: hydrolytic acidification-biological contact oxidation, UASB and oxidation ditch series process, UASB anoxic tank-contact oxidation process, hydrolytic acidification-biological contact oxidation - external circulation (EC) anaerobic process.
